artist's bio

christina mitrentse is a multidisciplinary artist who is known for constructing narratives and poetic ensembles through manifold processes of screen-printing editions, drawings and book-sculptures. with an a. onassis foundation fellowship mitrentse was awarded an mfa and a p.g dip. from chelsea college of art & design and pgce from university of greenwich. her recent series of meticulous screen-printed maps in red and blue (reminiscences of blue prints), are high-quality geographic data drawings inspired by vintage historical cartographic explorations of the early 19th century london, the victorian times, and by old ordnance survey.
