fiona paints with paper. her collages are all made by hand with xerox photocopies, a scalpel, glue, and an eye for the absurd. the imagery you see comes from original victorian marbled paper, furniture and objects that she photographs herself, plus some found imagery.
with a bank of imagery and photocopies, she goes to work. she has no idea what images will come about as she doesn’t see any finished pieces in her head, it all happens simply through time spent ‘making’. the work that comes through is sometimes camp, cosmic or comic, and sometimes romantic and apocalyptic. fiona follows pure intuition and believes in instinct as the purest creative force in all of us.
