about the artist

Emma Bond is an illustrator and botanical printmaker based in Walthamstow. Inspired by the quiet poetry of everyday life, she transforms moments from gardens, woodlands, and domestic spaces into intricate collagraph prints. Working with recycled Tetra Pak cartons, she layers and etches textures to produce richly embossed, tactile surfaces. Process and experimentation lie at the heart of her practice, yet it is the magical, unexpected qualities of printmaking that most captivate her. Emma’s work invites stillness and appreciation – a gentle meditation on nature, craft, and the passage of time.

the story

‘Summer Flowers’ is part of a seasonal series made in collaboration with local florist Borrowed Light. Inspired by arrangements created by Gustavo using stems grown by local growers, the piece celebrates the beauty of flowers in full bloom. Emma carefully observes and recreates each botanical form, attending to its shape, texture, and delicate pattern. Her printing process mirrors the patience and steady rhythm of growing – slow, observant, and deliberate. This series celebrates both the local community and the joy found in collaboration, honouring the shared care that brings beauty into being in colour.
