Inspired by the lively characters of Walthamstow, ‘Red / Blue Criss / Cross’ celebrates the humour and playfulness that run through local life. Astrid captures that energy in vivid contrasts – red meeting blue, lines crossing and weaving like conversations in motion. Behind the bright forms lies her fascination with folklore and masks, where identity becomes both hidden and revealed. The work pulses with rhythm and camaraderie, a portrait of a place alive with colour, laughter, and the joyful criss-crossing of human connection.
