artist's bio
dan whiteson is a young portrait and figurative painter from london. he studied at central saint martins and now lives and works out of his studio in tottenham. he has a fascination for the human condition and more recently worked on the impact of the digital age on human physicality.
dan also started up his own life drawing class, with the aim not only to share his passion for creativity and drawing, but to also offer people a different creative environment - in response to his negative experiences of life classes and creative education as a whole.
“i didn’t want to focus on the technique, or “right” or “wrong”, but instead to encourage, through an informal approach to teaching and an emphasis on experimental techniques and exercises, and environment in which students, regardless of ability, could feel relaxed and inspired, and thus be able to fully (re-)engage in the joy of creativity.”
