the artist
alice is a passionate young artist, designer and illustrator with a unique visual language. she uses pattern and colour to bring new life to familiar landscapes, documenting areas she loves with her signature bold colour palette and mark making. after studying illustration at falmouth university, alice moved to london and worked as a print designer for high street retailers. based in walthamstow for some time, alice developed a collection of illustrations showcasing her favourite spots in walthamstow - paying particular attention to lloyd park throughout the seasons.
the story
alice is continually drawn to the magnificence of nature, often going on walks around the gardens of lloyd park in walthamstow, marvelling at the botanical life that sits so harmoniously against the backdrop of the william morris gallery. through alice’s eyes we see this space as panels of abstracted colour filled with vivid, joyful pattern. the sedum are in bloom. the gallery is bathed in a warm red light. it is abundant, lush, bright and fresh.
the artwork
this artwork is a limited edition of 50 giclée print on 310gsm hahnemühle german etching paper using lightfast inks. it measures 42 x 29.7 cm (a3) and has been mounted to fit a 50 x 40 cm frame. the artwork is sold framed in a contemporary matt white wood frame, measuring 53 x 43 cm.
