the artist

Sarah is a local Hackney based artist inspired by her walks around the Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes. Her paintings document paths taken and colours emerging over the changing seasons. Balancing fine painterly detail with loose gestural mark-making, Sarah enjoys exaggerating her colour palette and infusing her source images with vibrancy and energy - bringing a fresh approach to contemporary landscape painting.

the story

Autumn Pastels is painted with expressive looseness, letting go of sharp edges and fine detail to capture the fleeting, shifting essence of the landscape. Wisps of thin orange lines dance across a dense orange haze of trees, offering hints of form through abstract, playful gestures. Lilac-hued trees rise straight from shadowed roots, their colours bold and exaggerated, yet strangely true to the eye. In this dreamlike palette, Sarah invites us to experience autumn not just as a season, but as a sensation; vivid, ephemeral and deeply felt.

This is an original chalk pastel on paper. The artwork is sold framed as agreed - straight in a slimline aluminium frame with walnut-stained oak veneer.

delivery

We undertake to dispatch the artwork within 3 days of placing the order. There is an additional packaging & postage charge of £15 for the framed painting. The artwork is free to pick-up from our Clapton Gallery.
