about the artist

gavin dobson is a london based illustrator. initially having trained in fine art at middlesex university, his artwork is inspired by a huge love of graphic novels and american comic books, in particular of the 1980s.

the story

“whilst painting my larger pieces, i decided to use smaller canvas boards as palettes to mix the paints and colours i required. these pallettes which I was left with were truly beautiful, expressive and quite abstract artworks which became the beginning stages of this collection. i love the fact that the colours and marks have been made unconciously” - gavin

“one pear, one orange” is part of a collection of one-off original oil paintings on canvas board. the painting is sold framed in a white wood tray frame. the framed painting measures 28.8 x 33.8 cm.
