the artist

Rachel creates monoprints inspired by land and seascapes, capturing the atmosphere of the Peak District hills and the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. These places, full of personal memory, remain a constant source of inspiration.

She builds layers and textures to suggest light, movement and form, applying ink to a plate before rolling, scraping, wiping and shaping it, then pressing paper over the surface.

Each monoprint is unique, with elements beyond control that often produce unexpected details which help shape the final image.
