Marion’s paintings draw inspiration from the interplay of light with the land, sea, and sky along Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast - a region she has a profound connection to after growing up there and recently having returned to. The horizontal ripples and her vibrant colour palette reflect the vast horizons influenced by changing seasons, weather, and varying times of day.

the story

‘Tides of Time’ is a new painting inspired by the peatland where Marion grew up and now lives, near the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland. Burgundy tones are the dominant colour, from the wild plants that grow there amongst the heather there too. The sky with its vintage, creamy tones are inspired by Marion’s love of history and the old stone walls in the area. These colours fuse together with subtle highlights of copper and gold to give this painting a rich and dreamy feel and the thick layers of texture suggest the roughness of bark, the marks across rocks and the shifting patterns of wind across a field.

This is a mixed-media painting, sold framed in a deep white solid wood tray frame measuring 104 x 104 cm.
