Light plays a powerful role in shaping the emotional layers of our newest artist Rita Matos' work. In her work she explores the notions of accumulation and disappearance with light guiding her - illuminating the subtleties of colour, texture, and form that transform with each layer.

Rita’s work turns inward, exploring time as memory – fragments, impressions, and echoes that linger long after the moment has passed. Her artistic process traces these moments, preserving with each painting becoming a small vessel for what she hopes to keep close. ‘Waking Up To Snow’ belongs to her Love Letters series – works inspired by the quiet joys that make life wonderful – a melody that fills you with unexpected tenderness, the first snowfall that softens the world and stirs something deep within, or the evening sky you wish you could hold onto a little longer. Though born from deeply personal moments, these paintings offer universal truths that resonate across all of us.
