about the artist

originally from kent, rennie pilgrem lives and works in london. he is one of a growing breed of post-digital ‘freestyle’ artists whose work encompasses everything from film, photography, painting, illustration and sound.

the story

here we see a tranquil, inky graphic scene from the epping forest. rennie recalls his fondness for the area and his memories of past revels there.  just as memories often come in non-sequential image bursts, so too is this a composite of three separate subjects in epping forest, photographed and placed together by rennie. the artwork features butler’s retreat, one of the few remaining listed victorian buildings in the forest, the mirrored surface of connaught water, and a rather finely shaped forest tree. evocation supersedes geography as the three landmarks combine and harmoniously mould together.

this is a limited edition of 45 fine art print, mounted and signed on the front. the artwork is sold framed in a solid black wood frame measuring 53 x 53 cm.
