about the artist
Laura Gee is a Walthamstow-based artist whose intuitive practice explores colour, emotion, and wellbeing through drawing and painting. Her expressive works reflect on motherhood, mental health, and the quiet joy of connecting with nature. Sketching from life in local parks, Laura transforms familiar scenes into vibrant, playful compositions that celebrate presence and renewal. Her art invites the viewer to pause and breathe – to rediscover the beauty of the everyday and the grounding comfort of the natural world.
the story
Sometimes the evening sky takes your breath away – subtle yet dramatic, its lavender tones casting everything in a dreamlike haze. ‘Lavender Light at Lloyd Park’ captures that fleeting moment when the William Morris gardens are bathed in soft, shifting light. Laura pauses within this calm, observing how colour transforms mood and air. Through delicate layers and gentle movement, she recreates the hush of twilight – that tender hour when the world seems to exhale, and the day drifts gracefully into night.
