the artist

Lene Bladbjerg is a Danish artist based in London, born in Denmark in 1974 and raised in Brussels. Her multicultural upbringing fuels her passion for exploring different cultures, which strongly influences her art.

With a background in graphic design, Lene blends typography and grids into her work to create striking and thought-provoking pieces. She focuses on the overlooked details of everyday life, often using recycled or unusual materials to reveal beauty in the ordinary.

Lene has chosen the song "I'm Like a Bird" by Nelly Furtado as the heartfelt inspiration for this piece. “Of We Go” is infused with memories of long, golden evenings in Denmark - her homeland - yet both the song and the artwork gently unravel the complex, ever-shifting feeling of what "home" truly is.

There’s a quiet yearning in both: a pull between belonging and the need to roam. Together, they capture the bittersweet beauty of movement - rooted in memory, yet always reaching toward the horizon.
