the artist
British artist Andrew Millar’s delicate artworks possess a haunting, magical, and dream-like quality. Gently glistening in the light from his hand-applied metallic leaf sheets, his Polaroid collages and large-scale works reveal an imaginative world of iconic vintage glamour, feminine portraiture, and natural symbolism.
the story
Andrew’s work bends the boundaries of what feels real, treating time as a shifting illusion where past and present seem to exist side by side. Whether captured in a small polaroid or expanded across one of his newest works ‘Under the Orange Sky’, ‘Shadows of Tomorrow’ or ‘Cloud Drifting’, each composition becomes a portal – metallic leaves and mother-of-pearl surfaces shimmering like echoes from another dimension. Forests transform into vibrant, otherworldly realms - familiar forms tilt toward the surreal as colour and light completely reshape them. Mysterious and evocative, Andrew’s work sits at the heart of The Shape of Time, inviting viewers into a world held together by unspoken stories.
