the artist

Sarah is a local Hackney based artist inspired by her walks around the Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes. Her paintings document paths taken and colours emerging over the changing seasons. Balancing fine painterly detail with loose gestural mark-making, Sarah enjoys exaggerating her colour palette and infusing her source images with vibrancy and energy - bringing a fresh approach to contemporary landscape painting.

the story

"Pastel Blur" tells the story of a moment half-remembered—a quiet walk through dappled light, where the edges of leaves soften in the sun and colours melt into one another. Painted in soft, hazy strokes, the scene drifts between memory and dream, capturing not the details of nature, but the feeling of being briefly immersed in it. It’s a glimpse, a breath, a blur - where structure loosens and the world feels beautifully out of focus.
