the artist

Sarah is a local Hackney based artist inspired by her walks around the Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes. Her paintings document paths taken and colours emerging over the changing seasons. Balancing fine painterly detail with loose gestural mark-making, Sarah enjoys exaggerating her colour palette and infusing her source images with vibrancy and energy - bringing a fresh approach to contemporary landscape painting.

the story

At first glance, it’s just a hedge - something you might pass without thinking, maybe on the way to work or during a walk after rain. But in 'Fuchsia Cluster II', that everyday hedge becomes something altogether different: vibrant, alive, impossible to ignore.

This painting doesn’t sit quietly. It hums with energy, turning soft pastel tones into something bold and expressive. Blush pinks and cool greens twist and fold into each other, creating a rhythmic, almost musical flow of movement across the canvas.
