Connor Doyle is a contemporary landscape painter whose practice centres on the expressive interplay of colour and texture. Working primarily with a palette knife, he creates imagined worlds that exist somewhere between realism and abstraction – vivid scenes that invite the viewer into a space of escape and reflection. In ‘Beside Still Waters’, Connor returns to one of his quiet sanctuaries – the Hollow Ponds. Trees, often central to his paintings, stand here as guardians of calm, their reflections merging with water and sky. The scene is not copied from a photograph but composed from memory and feeling – fragments of place woven into a single moment of peace.
