Contemporary artist Marion McConaghie’s style is defined by loose and sketchy strokes featuring delicate lines, some with explosive colour. the latest abstract seascape paintings explore the themes of light, tone and movement observed in her surroundings.

Marion says: “I love the different layers in Kate Bush’s ‘The Fog’ - they echo the layers in my painting. The song takes you on a journey, with moments like a violin passage that add a beautiful, poetic quality.

“Morning Mist” is built up with layers of colour and texture. In my newer work, I focus on subtle, central lighting to create depth, drawing the viewer in and inviting them to explore a misty, immersive landscape more closely.”

This is an original mixed media painting on canvas, sold framed in a white solid wood tray frame measuring 84 x 84 cm.
