the artist

Sarah is a local Hackney based artist inspired by her walks around the Hackney and Walthamstow Marshes. Her paintings document paths taken and colours emerging over the changing seasons. Balancing fine painterly detail with loose gestural mark-making, Sarah enjoys exaggerating her colour palette and infusing her source images with vibrancy and energy - bringing a fresh approach to contemporary landscape painting.

the story

Woods Scene I is a small gouache painting that captures the quiet calm of a wooded path along the River Lea. The birch tree's irregular markings seem to ripple with movement, lines of colour breaking free, as if nature itself were sketching. Sarah paints with a spontaneous, expressive hand, yet the result remains strikingly true to life.

We undertake to dispatch the artwork within 3 days of placing the order. There is an additional packaging & postage charge of £6 for the framed painting. The artwork is free to pick-up from our Clapton Gallery.
