Ellie Edwards is a Walthamstow-based printmaker whose joyful work celebrates the pleasures of food and shared experiences. With a background in food writing, she translates her love of local bakeries, cafés, and markets into vibrant hand-carved lino prints. Each piece captures a fleeting, sensory moment – the texture of pastry, the colour of seasonal produce, the warmth of a meal shared. Created by hand in her kitchen, her prints embrace imperfection and individuality, turning the everyday act of eating into a reflection on community, memory, and belonging.

the story

Ellie spends her weekends planning new recipes, making lists of ingredients and where to find them. For fruit and vegetables, it’s always Bora & Sons on Orford Road, where crates of tomatoes in every shade of red greet you at the door. The darker tones in this print call to mind a zingy summer gazpacho, while the brighter vine tomatoes beg to be sprinkled with sea salt and eaten with crusty bread, brie, and a glass of rosé. ‘Gazpacho Red’ is both appetite and atmosphere – summer distilled in colour.
