Matt’s work explores mis-remembered memories of places he’s visited - not through literal representation, but by capturing the emotion of being there. Though abstract, his “memory scapes” often spark personal recollections in those who view them.

His latest collection is his most personal yet. Originally inspired by Greek myths, it evolved into something deeper following the birth of his son, Atlas, and his subsequent heart surgery. Each print became a landscape of the heart - a visual story whispered by the crib, filled with dreams, imagined adventures, and the quiet strength of a father’s love.

Matt says: “Nick Drake’s ‘Northern Sky’ is the auditory soul of ‘Dawn’s Promise’ - its fragile, hopeful melody feels just like the first light breaking through after a long night. There’s something deeply comforting in its gentleness, in the way it quietly lifts. The lyric about a ‘northern sky’ being brightened felt like the perfect expression of my hope for Atlas during those quiet, uncertain hours before dawn. In that moment, the song became more than music - it was a whisper of reassurance, a promise that the light would return.”

This is a limited edition of 100 fine art prints available to purchase either unframed (14.8 x 21 cm) or framed mounted in a contemporary slimline aluminium frame with off-white oak veneer measuring 25 x 31 cm.
