the artist
Anna’s minimalist mark-making is like poetry – each brushstroke and splash of paint carefully considered and deliberate – laden with meaning and purpose. A London-based artist, she most often works with water-based medias on paper, raw canvas and wood – the organic properties of these materials shining through. Transformation and Japanese aesthetics are key areas of focus, with influences from the zen philosophy ‘Ma’ and Shibumi principles.
the sound
Anna says: ‘Offshore V’ is inspired by the seascapes of Île de Ré, France - serene and bathed in soft, diffused light, with gentle textures that capture the quiet balance between sky and sea, simplicity and atmosphere. Chicane’s ‘Offshore’ instantly transports me back to that beautiful place, echoing its calm, expansive spirit and the peaceful rhythm of the tides.
