about the artist

Angela Dierks creates dreamlike abstract paintings suffused with emotion and light. Her work draws upon her background as a psychotherapist, weaving together the inner landscape of feeling with painterly exploration. Gentle yet vibrant, her compositions evoke themes of love, hope, and joy, translating subtle states of mind into visually poetic form. Having spent many years in Walthamstow, Angela feels deeply connected to its creative spirit and community. Her works for this exhibition capture the rhythm and colour of local life, expressing the vibrancy and tenderness that run through her experience of the Stow.

the story

Angela recalls many summer evenings in Walthamstow Village – meeting friends, sharing stories over beer and pizza in the garden of The Nags Head. ‘Ultramarine Nights I’ captures that energy – the laughter, the warmth, the familiar glow of night in a place that feels like home. The blue of the painting may be deeper than the real sky, but it reflects the spirit of those nights – sociable, vibrant, alive with colour and connection beneath the gentle hum of Walthamstow’s evening air.
